Music is my oldest hobby and a reliable constant in my life. It started with the recorder in elementary school, moved to the violin soon after, and then in middle school I found my love for the flute. Ever since, I’ve been a flautist — performing in symphonic wind ensembles, orchestras, and smaller groups, including an all-flute choir.

My current musical adventure is a jazz tango ensemble, taught by an amazing bandoneon instructor. We learn new music together and perform every few months at The Royal Room, a jazz club in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood. Tango is a whole different musical language from the classical repertoire I grew up on, and I love it.

I’ve also dabbled in arranging pieces, and one day I hope to try composing new music of my own. If you’re in Seattle, come catch a show!
